Measured, dried and verified.
- Inspection. We find the water source, classify the loss and map moisture through walls, ceilings and floors.
- Extraction. We remove standing water with commercial water extractors.
- Controlled demolition. We remove wet drywall, insulation, baseboards and flooring that can't be dried in place.
- Structural drying. We place air movers and dehumidifiers based on the size of the space and how wet it is.
- Monitoring. We record moisture readings until materials reach dry standard, which supports your insurance claim.
- Rebuild. We put back what was removed. See insurance claims.

Drying is half the job. We do the other half too.
New sheetrock, flooring, trim and paint from the same crew that dried your home.
Water damage questions
What should I do first when I find water damage?
If it's safe, shut off the water at the main valve and turn off electricity to wet areas. Move valuables out of the water, take photos and video of the damage, then call your insurance company and a water damage restoration contractor such as Metro Home Improvement at (201) 503-4388.
How quickly does water damage need to be dried?
As fast as possible. According to the EPA, wet building materials should be dried within 24 to 48 hours to help prevent mold growth. Water also wicks up drywall and into subfloors, so the damage grows the longer it sits.
How long does structural drying take?
Most residential water losses take about three to five days of drying with commercial air movers and dehumidifiers. We check moisture readings during the job and remove equipment once materials reach dry standard.
Is water damage covered by homeowners insurance?
Sudden and accidental water damage, such as a burst pipe or a failed supply line, is often covered by standard homeowners policies. Gradual leaks and flood water from outside are often excluded or need separate flood coverage. Your policy and your adjuster decide coverage; we bill your insurance company directly for covered work.
Do you handle the repairs after the water is dried?
Yes. Our general contracting crew rebuilds what was removed, including sheetrock, insulation, trim, flooring and paint, so you don't have to hire a second contractor.
